Based in California,

Ayumi Furusawa has worked for over twenty years

in early childhood and special education,

with a commitment to multicultural and multilingual communities.

As an educator, researcher, and family advocate,

she explores how meaning, participation,

and belonging are shaped across disability,

language, and culture.

At Johns Hopkins University,

her doctoral work examines the shift

from pathology-based models

toward the neurodiversity paradigm,

with particular attention to belonging and participation.

Through writing, curation, and podcasting,

she connects research with lived experience,

creating space for neurodivergent voices

and family perspectives within public conversation.

ニューロダイバーシティ・パラダイムへの転換、

そして belonging（居場所と参加）のあり方を研究している。

執筆、キュレーション、ポッドキャストを通して、

研究と実践をつなぎながら、

ニューロダイバージェントの声と家族の経験を

社会へひらいている。

人の感じ方や見え方を、

「欠け」ではなく、

人間の多様性として捉えなおす。
